Winterfell mulled wine

Warm red wine with spices was especially popular in the northern and central parts of medieval Europe.   Real castles from Scotland and Nothern Island became original prototypes for the North in “Game of Thrones”. Snowy winters are common there. In this world, vines are not commonly grown due to the harsh northern climate, and wine is not a common drink. The people of Winterfell typically drink mead, ale, and cider, but of course trade always solve how to get wine. Since citrus fruits were hardly available in Winterfell, this recipe is without orange, but you can add orange or lemon to taste. Winterfell mulled wine will be a great drink for cold winter evenings.

For mulled wine, a full-bodied red wine with a high alcohol content and bold flavor is ideal, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Syrah/Shiraz. The specific type of grape used can also vary based on personal preference and regional availability.
