Hot drinl is simply indispensable on cold winter evenings. It warms, and invigorates. Hot wine has rich flavour, color and taste. Besides the warmness of this drink on weekend in good company give us positive emotions throughout the week. Here I suggest a recipe for easy mulled wine with fruits.
- orange — 1 pc.
- apple — 1 pc.
- ginger root — 1 piece (2 cm)
- juice and zest — 1/2 lemon
- star anise — 2 stars
- clove — 4 buds
- cinnamon — 1 stick
- allspice — 4 peas
- honey -—2 tbs.
- dry red wine — 500 ml
How to cook easy mulled wine
Step 1. Wash the orange and cut into thin slices without peeling.
Step 2. Wash the apple, dry it and cut it in half. Remove the core with the seeds, cut the apple into slices. Peel the ginger root, wash and grate on a fine grater.
Step 3. Put all the prepared ingredients in a small saucepan, add the juice and zest of 1/2 lemon, cloves, star anise, allspice, cinnamon stick and honey. Add dry red wine.
Step 4. Put on the fire and, stirring, heat up to about 60 °C (140 °F). Please do not bring it to a boil! Then turn off the heat, close the saucepan with a lid and leave it on the hot stove for at least 10 minutes.
Step 5. Pour the finished mulled wine into mugs or thick-walled glasses and serve immediately. You can garnish it with slices of orange or lemon.
