Beef stew with potatoes is not only delicious but also a hearty dish. It is easy to cook, although it takes a long time since the meat requires prolonged heat treatment. However, all your expectations will be met when your kitchen is filled with a delicious aroma. You will enjoy juicy pieces of beef stew with carrots and potatoes on your plate or you can cook beef and green bean stir fry.
- Beef — 400 g.
- Potatoes — 500 g.
- Onion — 200 g.
- Carrot — 150 g .
- Green beans — 200 g.
- Vegetable oil — 2 tbs.
- Water — 500 ml.

How to cook beef stew with potatoes
Step 1. Start with unfreesing beef. Pull it out of the freezer for a day, then hold it for two hours at room temperature. Then cut into small pieces, cubes or straws, no more than two centimeters thick.
Step 2. Peel the onion from the husk, rinse with cold water, and then cut it as you like, for example, cubes or quarters of rings.
Step 3. Rinse the carrots with extreme care, peel and rinse again. Grate the prepared carrots on a coarse grater.
Step 4. In a crock-pot or slow cooker heat a small amount of vegetable oil and send onions and carrots into it. Fry for 5 minutes until the pieces of vegetables change color. Add the beef and continue cooking. First, evaporate all the resulting water and juice, then, stirring occasionally, fry the meat until golden brown. As soon as the contents of thecrock pot are fried, pour 500 ml. of water into it. Change frying mode into stewing. Stew vegetables with meat for 2 hours. It is also important to monitor the water level throughout the cooking time so that the meat does not burn, if necessary, pour more liquid.
Step 5. As soon as the meat stewing time ends, take care of the potatoes. It should be peeled and thoroughly rinsed with cold water. After that, the potatoes are cut into medium-sized pieces. I poured water into the plate with them to prevent dark color appearance on the vegertables.
Step 6. Put the prepared potatoes in a crock-pot with the meat and add spices to taste. The water should reach at least half of the top layer of potatoes. Continue simmering for 20 minutes.
Step 7. Add the green string beans. You do not need to defrost them. Cook it for 10 minutes.
Step 8. Then add salt to the dish, add the herbs, fresh or dried, and continue cooking for about 5 minutes. When the right time passes, turn off the crock pot and let the meat and potato stew stay under the closed lid for 10 minutes to cool slightly.
Step 9. Beef stewed with potatoes is served hot. To taste you can add ketchup, sour cream or mayonnaise to it, but the beef with potato is good as it is. So just enjoy the taste of hearty meat and vegetables.
