Beef salad recipe with pickles and onions is a nutritious meal with a piquant taste and sour cream as a dressing. This dish will add variety to the festive table and be an excellent alternative to mayonnaise salads. Beef salad is not hard to cook at home: it can be a hearty snack, a main dish, or even an excellent option for a picnic.

Ingredients

  • Beef — 500 g.
  • Onion — 2 middle pcs.
  • Garlic — 2 cloves (3 too much for me)
  • Pickles — 6 pcs.
  • Carrot — 150 g.
  • Parsley — 50 g.
  • Green onion — 30 g.
  • Vegetable oil — 2 tbs.
  • Bay leaf — 1pc.
  • Allspices — to taste

For dressing

  • Sauer cream — 200 g
  • Black ground pepper — to taste
  • Provence mixture — to taste

How to make the beef salad

Step 1. Prepare all the ingredients.

Then boil beef steaks for 1 hour and a half. Remember to remove the foam from the broth while boiling. Beef must be cooked and cooled in advance. Boil with allspice,  salt and bay leaf. Leave the meat to cool in the broth to remain juicy.

Step 2. Disassemble the cooled meat into fibers or cut it into strips. Put in a salad bowl.

Step 3. Grind the carrot on a coarse grater, and slice the onion in rings. Then simmer them for five minutes on vegetable oil.

Step 4. Dice the pickles. If they are too watery, they can be put in a sieve for a couple of minutes for the liquid to drain out for a couple of minutes.

Step 6. Chop the garlic.

Step 7. Wait till the meat cools down. Separate it into small pieces: mix meat, carrot, onion, garlic, and pickles in a big bowl.

Step 8. For dressing mix sour cream, black ground pepper and Provence mixture. Pour the dressing on top of the ingredients and mix well.
